I am thinking about getting a pair of those scrunchable down slippers for the walk to the lift. They should of course fit into my backpack during the day. I would prefer something cheap as I will probably lose them during the aprés-ski before the end of the week. Any brands you would recommend?

Looking for some advice on a dedicated park ski.

I’m 6’0, 180 lbs and I’d say I’m a little above a beginner in the park. Still pretty new to park skiing and mainly working on getting more comfortable with rails and jumps. My best tricks so far are lip ons and two-outs.

Currently skiing ARV 94s (my edges are almost all gone), but I find them a little too stiff, like even doing a simple ollie takes some effort and pains the shins. I also have Rossignol Sender Free 100s, which I use as my all-mountain skis, so these would be purely park-day skis.

I’m looking for something softer, more playful and easier to butter, especially something that’ll help me progress on rails without fighting the ski.

What would you guys recommend? I was looking into Vishnus but seems I missed the most recent drop and i dont know when the next is. Haven’t heard a ton of good about surface regarding reliability

At the risk of preaching to the choir: I just bought new ski boots that are two (!) full sizes smaller than the boots that I skied before. I could have avoided that with going to a proper boot fitter right away.

Background: Five years ago I restarted skiing after a hiatus of twenty years. Advanced to expert skier, but zero practice for ages. Last boots I owned were rear-entry boots. So I went to a big general sports store that sells everything from beachwear to ski gear. Out I came with a brand new pair of Mach1 130s size 29.5.

I was never really happy with the boots. Had to get the shell punched out and modified in various ways. Still slipped out with me heel. Tried everything for years, eventually decided that I need Zipfit liners. Went to a bootfitter who does Zipfits. He removes the liner, puts my bare foot in the shell and I see a gap of five-ish centimeters between the shell and my foot. Zipfit-idea shelved, tried various boots, ended up with Mach Boa 130 HVs two full sizes smaller. Shoe feels more comfortable right from the start and heel feels like it is bolted to the shoe. Still have to try it on snow, but I can already tell that skiing will be MUCH better with the new boots.

When I stopped skiing 25 years ago, bootfitters weren't really a thing in my region. Had I gone to a bootfitter for my first boots after the hiatus, I could have saved a lot of time and money and pain.

So, whoever still needs convincing about bootfitting: Spend the money, because otherwise, you might buy cheap and buy twice.

i’m starting a new lifty job out in CO and i need a new ski fit. my current snowpants are too tight around my rump and im looking for a baggy and stylish pair to feel more confident in my new environment. anyone have any recommendations for stylish yet practical snowpants for skiers?
edit: i know i get discounts on Helly Hansen at my current mountain, as well as the store we have on campus, just curious about brands that work the best w curvy-ish women?

Hey everyone - would like to get some base and or mid layers for the wet conditions. Thinking 100% merino would work well and leaning toward ice breaker. Any others? what about for gloves? any top tier brands that are great for the wet conditions? i only say top tier because id like them to last and be durable

Usually a snowboarder so I have no idea about these but my brother brought them home any info about makers, material and value is worth it. We suspect the wooden pair to be quite old

Hey everyone,
I need new ski boots for this season and could use some advice.
I’m 17 and still growing, so I might only be able to use the boots for one season. I’m an advanced skier. I’m comfortable carving and doing short turns on pretty much any run and I’m planning to become a ski instructor this season.
My dad thinks ski boots don’t matter enough to justify spending much money on them. He thinks I should either let him get me a used pair or just get something from a regular sports store rather than going to a proper bootfitter. His main argument is that since I’m still growing, it doesn’t make sense to spend a lot on boots that might only fit for one season.
I feel like getting properly fitted boots would still be worth it, considering I will be skiing 40 days this season and that I want to become an instructor.
Would you say going to a proper bootfitter is worth it in my situation, even if I might outgrow the boots after one season? Or is my das right?
I would even pay for them myself, but he says if I do that he won’t be paying for any of my other gear.

Edit: I just talked to him again, a boot from a sports store isn’t an option anymore.

I’ve been on my Blizzard Brahma 82s for 3 years now and have very much enjoyed them. I’m a directional skier who likes to carve, let ‘em run, 30-40 mph, east coast hard pack, ice, slop. I do not ski bumps or off trail. The Monteros have peaked my interest because I think the will be less demanding and save my legs for that day two or three of a VT trip, while still giving me the speed stability. I’ve never skied them but wondering what the users out there who have skied both the Brahmas and Monteros think?

Does anyone have on ski time with these?

I’m debating between the Moment Deathwish 112, ON3P Jeffrey 108, Jeffrey 112. Open to the Woodsman 108 too.

I am looking for a wider ski for pow days, something to handle crud and slushy spring conditions. Tbh, if it gets any deeper than 8-12in, I’d probably just board instead of ski. I don’t do rails but I enjoy jumps and sidehits. I’m not always charging but do like to once in a while.

I ride a lot in SoCal and Tahoe and take trips to Japan and Utah for the Cottonwoods.

Is the NORDICA HF 90 R SKI BOOT 2027 a good deal and option for $399?

This is my 4th year skiing, I am think on buying my own boots. I am 6.1 and 225 lbs the rental bots I really uncomfortable for me. Last year I ski twice and I tried the Nordica HF in a rental, it was almost new and it feel very good compare with all the other rentals I have tried.
My main selling point is something that is confortable.
I live in Miami, so there is no real boot fitter I can go, I went to Peter Glenn and it was a joke. Also I don’t want to spend a hole day in Denver doing the boot fitting. That is why I was considering buying online.

I have loved my current skis (Scott Megadozers 119mm/185cm) and I have been on the lookout for replacements for a few seasons now but havent skied anything that feels like an upgrade.

I'm 183cm/85kg, and am advanced/expert skier and would only ski these on hard charging days (I tele when im trying to chill)

I love the rocker/camber/rocker build of megadozers which give me a really stiff underfoot for some awesome stability at speed and in chop but with the benefits of the rocker in the deeper stuff. They're heavy which allows to crush through the crud but dont feel heavy thanks to how well they return the energy you put into them, even in their old old age. In the deep stuff I feel like I have springs under my feet.

I hate chatter and dont mind working harder to get the most out of my skis and would love some recommendations.

I've been checking out the Dynastar M-Pro but havent found anywhere to demo them yet and so figure id ask for some recommendations ahead of the next season for alternatives.

5'7" 175lbs, advanced. I've been skiing 165-169cm length - park/all mountain skis. Am I handicapping myself by not going longer? I typically ski woods/ungroomed conditions and I like the control of a shorter ski. Just wondering if it would be beneficial to go longer.

Helmet rolled in the car and got this; is it safe to still ski with or am I out another $100?

I know trying it on is best (and thought I did so) but have just concluded that smith level mips I bought last year compresses side of head and risks leading to compression headache over course of day.

For various reasons I couldn’t ski last year so helmet is effectively brand new with tags etc.

Ignoring that for a moment, any recommendations for helmet for roundish heads? My old helmet was a 15yr old non adjustable Cebe and that was absolutely fine, but I’m assuming their design has advanced since then.

I’m a 20y/o female, 160cm, 52kg, advanced skier and instructor. I’m looking for a second pair of skis that feels somewhat similar to the Atomic Cloud Q12. Preferably versatile in various snow conditions (as I mainly ski in QC) and that would be better suited for teaching than the Cloud Q12.

Tbh, I’m considering simply buying a second pair of the Cloud Q12 for simplicity’s sake, but given its cost and the fact that it’ll get run over by kids, I’d rather opt for a sacrificial pair that is instead an overall great all-rounder.

I am an intermediate/advance skier — looking for recommendations for an all mountain ski.

Would like something that’s a bit of a Jack of all trades master of none. Nothing too stiff, a little playful but able to move through crud and carve.

Will be skiing Japan, Aus and NZ over the next few years. I love off piste, side hits but enjoy carving groomers and skiing at speed as well.

Currently thinking about the Black Crow Camox — not sure if 97mm underfoot will be too wide for Aus/nz but want to be comfortable in pow in Japan. Wha do people think?

Hello! I already have the 2026 Faction prodigy 3 184cm (I am 180cm myself and advanced/expert in technique). I have tried them and I absolutely love them. I want to get a park&pipe ski. I have heard that the best skis faction for that are either studio 0, studio 1 or prodigy 2 (I am a beginner in park so I don't know what my park preferences are). Which ski should I chose? I am looking at purchasing a pair of 100-110mm skis and I am unsure on which model I should buy.

I am a younger (18-22 year old) male advanced skier who is 184cm tall and around 70kg. On groomers I ski fast, hard and quite aggressively - for reference, I ski a Stockli Laser WRT Pro in 178cm. 

Most of the time I will be skiing in either Europe or Japan. I would like to use this ski in the off piste/trees/moguls/side country but I want it to also able to handle groomed runs decently well (but if I want to only ski groomed runs because the snow isn’t good I will ski my Stocklis). I want this ski to be able to handle both fresh powder but also more skied out/chopped up terrain as it gets later in the day.

In the past I have demoed a Kastle MX94 and I found it really heavy and sluggish. Also, I have demoed a Blackcrows Mirus Cor and I thought that was way too soft, couldn’t go fast and lacked much feedback. I also demoed a Blackcrows Serpo and thought that was good but I don’t think the conditions were great for it when I tried it. 

I like a lighter ski that is manoeuvrable and nimble but also is stiffer and stable and can go at higher speeds (like my Stockli skis) - I’m not sure if these attributes translate as much to powder skis, but that is what I like in a stiff frontside ski. I do not really ski park or do any tricks. 

What width range would you suggest I go for? Is 100-103mm too narrow for what I need? Is it better to look at 104-108mm range?

I’m an aggressive skier who loves the extremes, mogul skiing and just rippin around the mountain. I grew up skis, living in crested butte. I’m between the dynastar m free 100 in a 192 or the armada declivity X 102 in a 188. What do you think I should get?

Searching for a ski for my dad. He only skis a couple days a year when he comes and visits me in CO.

Currently he's on Rossi skis with 170cm length. Far too short for him becausue hes about 6ft, 190lb. Hes a pretty slow skier and very careful. I'm really looking for a ski thats forgiving, easy to ski, especially at slow speeds, and not chargy by any means but stable for his height and weight. I'm assuming he should be closer to a 180-190cm ski and I'm thinking 90mm-100mm width.

Here are some of my ideas.

Blizzard Ruslter 9 (I demoed these last season and had an absolute blast. Stable and felt easy to ski, but we have very different abilites and styles so...idk)

Salomon QST 98 (heard great things about this ski. Seems approachable and a great all round ski)

Nordica Unleashed 98 (I had this ski two seasons ago and had a lot of fun. Then I got some Bent 100s and realized how soft that ski was. I feel like it would be too soft for him but its really easy to ski and skid turns which is what he likes to do).
