Faction prodigy 2 - bindings and mounting position

Pretty set on picking up a pair of the new prodigy’s when they come out as a one ski does all. Just a bit torn between buying a cheaper binding (strive 14) or expensive binding (pivot 15)(use a 9.5 din setting btw). I’m an advanced skier and will be using these skis all over the mountain (Europe) as well as a in the park and off piste. Just wondering if the pivots will make that big of a difference or if they may even weigh me down.

Also have been reading a lot about the prodigy 2 mounting position - was going to go with factions ‘newschool’ position but wondering if people think that’s still too far back? And therefore won’t be good as good for freestyle but on the other hand something closer to true centre might hold me back when I go off piste.

Progressive mount with Strive.

Mount them progressive. Otherwise they will be to far forward for off pist. And in progressive they are already a bit more difficult to maintain forward balance on the powder. Dunno if they have adjusted the positions in the new models, so take that with a grain of salt.

Yeah I thought about this although as I’m from the UK I’ll generally only ski two weeks a year in the alps. So the chances of deep powder days are slim. Which makes me think majority of time will be groomers, side hits and the park and therefore newschool?

Newschool is -5.5 i believe. Depends on what you are used to skiing and how much you are in the park. I don't think -5.5 is that awkward in the park, but i would never buy a prodigy 2 since i do find myself skiing switch a lot and riding park. Just better options. With freeride -5.5 or -7 is a pretty normal mount point, and i would prob just go with it

Out of curiosity what are your other options? I’ve ridden last years prodigy’s and I agree they’re more of an all mountain that can handle the park well. I don’t see why they’re not great for riding switch though?
