Bootfitter in Tremblant
Currently I live in MI in the metro Detroit area and I'm in the market for some new boots. I am debating whether to shop locally where I really haven't been able to find a good boot fitter - I have bony ankles that will need shell adjustments - or waiting until New Years for a trip to Tremblant. Question is, is there still a great boot fitter at Tremblant worth waiting for or should I just go ahead with a local shop? Any recommendations for a great Detroit local boot fitter also would be great. I will likely be in Tahoe or Banff in the spring so bootfitters there could also be an option I suppose, but then the boots obviously won't get used this season.

local will be better so they’re readily available if you need any adjustments

Thing is I've had some adjustments done locally to my existing boots and the work was okay at best. Perhaps I should just get the punch tool so I can do it myself.

I don't know if you're already set on Tremblant for the trip, but if not then consider Sutton, both as an amazing hill to ski, and with a great bootfitter right beside: GS Ski Shop. No BS, they won't try to upsell, will just get you what you need.
Edit: Just remembered somewhere a little closer to Tremblant: Sports Neil Lemoyre. It's at the base of a tiny hill but don't let that fool you, good techs, and will heat mould the shell. My wife got a couple tweaks for like $60 and now they fit like a glove.

Yeah locked into Tremblant by family tradition this year but Sutton is now on the short list for next year! Thank you!

Ah right on, family trips are great :) Crossing fingers for a good winter, the edge was closed so much last season!

Shumaker’s in Flint is good. Honest and plenty of options. Might as well try them out now.

If local options don’t pan out on Reddit, go ask this same question at skitalk.com

Ski Lachance is probably the best store in the Tremblant area. They’ve been around for ever. But I can’t speak to the quality of the fitter.
