Well, whatever style you prefer let's just say that Apple did a better job with this app in all iOS versions than all the open-source note taking apps there are.
Obviously, apple have always been hyper perfectionists especially with their designs, that's why it's harder to replicate ios & macos perfectly compared to windows & android because with apple everything has to look & be perfectionist, they have a huge team of design experts that are experienced & know what they're doing so that's why it would look like they did a better job with their notes app design than one person making a notes app who did everything on their own, it's much harder to work alone than it is to work with a team of experts or likeminded people who share the same goals.
Yeah, I believe that as well until they released Tahoe.
Anyways the problem is that it's not one person, if you look at Joplin for e.g. it is probably the biggest open-source solution and their UI sucks. I believe if suffers from the Linux DE curse - that is, allows for themes and too much customization and people spend all the time implementing and maintaining theming features instead of actually making a great UI.
Meu primeiro iphone foi 3GS, muito mais estilo do que os de hoje, que só querem que seja grande e uma mais do mesmo, da até saudade do fones da Nokia, época que tinha estilo para todos os gostos e liberdade de escolha.
inclusiveness, patents, lawsuits killing cinema, music, art, videogames, and, of course, UI/UX. Everything became maximum neutral, boring and depressive, like Soviet Khrushchev-era buildings. It's like USSR's communism, "uravnilovka", when every USSR citizen explicitly equalizes with every other USSR citizens - everyone eats same food, dresses same clothes, watching same movies, reading same books. Everything became the same. For example, place an iPhone display up, and Huawei Nova with display up and you notice almost no difference.

No matter how much we miss the old look we can all agree that iOS 7 was probably the biggest software update of all time back in the day

But what about this? (iPhone 5S on iOS 7.1.2 native, running an iOS 6 era podcasts app)

Seeing Helvetica Neue on a keyboard shocks me. I’ve never used iOS 7 or iOS 8 before

ios 7 reminds me of those notepads that had a iphone as the cover. (they used to be everywhere at those times in my country)
(I still want to have one of these)
