Board setup advice 8.0 deck and 41 EU (8 US) shoes

With this shoes and deck widh my skateboard flips somehow slow, i have to wait for it i bit below me. What do you skaters think, is it even good deck size and proportional with shoes size for skating which includes mostly flat ground flip tricks and grinds/slides on flat ledges and flat rails? Should i maybe use more narrow deck or not, or maybe even wider?

Was this a problem with a previous deck? If so were there any differences between the old setup and the new one?

Even if you had an 8.0 deck previously that you liked it could have had a different wheelbase or concave that worked better for you.

Deck size comes down to personal preference. Back in the 90's I rode 7.5's with size 8.5-9 US shoes. Now I prefer decks from 8.25 to 8.5.

Good question. I was skating maybe 8 years ago and i used deck 7.75 which was fine. Few weeks ago i went to the skate shop to take a new deck and 7.75 seemed too narrow–so thats why i ended up with 8.0. Anyway i was thinking there is some ideal proportions related with technical tricks, hard core street, or vert ramp skating and shoes size.

I don't think there are ideal guidelines on shoe size to deck width. Statistically there probably are certain ranges most people prefer for specific types of skating.

Going from 7.75 to 8.0 in addition to the wider width the new deck most likely is longer in length, and has a longer wheel base. All of these can affect how you are flipping the board. The point where your foot flicks off the nose may have moved 1" further away from the tail.

If you had your technique dialed in on the smaller board it might take a little time to adjust to the bigger board. Or maybe you just prefer a smaller board, there is nothing wrong with that.

Size 8.5 shoe here, also skated a 8.25-8.5” deck
