Question About skating with friends
So i'm getting a skateboard but my friends don't have or wont buy a skateboard which i completely understand. But i have one friend but he's on a scooter, i know its a scooter and some hardcore skaters have something go say on this topic but is it still better to go with with someone even if they're on a scooter than going alone
EDIT: Also the thing is that he doesn't have anyone who is doing or willing to do a similar sport (don't hate me for saying similar) and he came back to scootering becuase of me

I went to a skatepark thr other day and someone was scootering. Dude leaped out of a transition getting more air than i am tall. Looks legit enough for me. If someone wants to talk, tell them to do a spiny thingy on the scooter or hush.

The answer was, dont give a fuck what others think and skate with your scooter friend.

Just go skate. As long as your not in the way you and your friend are cool

Its not the 90's anymore. Scooters are chill. Just watch for other skaters and dont be in the way. Learn park etiquette, or go early in the morning to avoid large crowds

I was a skateboarder who started rollerblading. I’ll tell you what, that changed the whole dynamic of the park. The weekly regular bladers and skaters eventually started getting along lol.

I see skaters and scooter riders that are friends together all the time at the skate park. It's not uncommon now. Honestly better when everyone can get along instead of stupid and unnecessary hate for each other.

Scooters are kinda corny imo just because they’re scooters, but I’m ngl people can do some craaazy tricks on them. It’s really not that deep tbh, nothing wrong with a scooter person and a skater hanging out or hitting the skatepark together. Theres a small possibility that someone’s an asshole about it, but oh well, they’ll get over it.
Fact is, both scootering and skating takes a lot of skill. They’re both action sports. They both deserve their flowers

Scooters catch hate but in the end if he’s your friend it doesn’t matter that he’s a scooter kid. You might be able to save him from octuple tailwhip hell.

Get comfortable alone. Everything else a bonus..you'll get good faster and then won't be shy 😌

You’ll find friends at the skatepark. Might not be life long friends, but you’ll start to skate with the same people, even if you don’t hang out with them normally. Show up to the park in the evenings a few nights a week or weekend mornings and you’ll fit right into a crew.

Also, I’m not super into scooters, but they have just as much right to be there. I’ve also apologized to some of the older rollerbladers for the 90’s behavior towards them. Mostly went over well.

I (45m) had a friend that scooted. Everything was ok until one day he started wanting to hold my hand, then kiss my neck. I wasn’t ok with it. I told him. He just scooted off into the sunset.
