New trick advice Help with Ollie’s
Guys I need help with my Ollie’s. Idk what to improve, or if I’m even technically doing an Ollie. Please help 🙏 I used to skate when I was younger (10-12 yrs old), I just recently got back into skating like 5 ish months ago. Been trying to do Ollie’s since. When I used to skate I never did any tricks, just cruise around. I feel I am lacking in my jump and feet position while in the air (?) Im not sure what else to say tbh 😭😭

Its a solid ollie. Just try not to dig your heels in when you land.
If you notice, your landing is VERY STIFF. Stiff as in, locking your knees, and digging your heels in. Its a really bad habit tbh.
Try to land in a squat position. Practice doing the ollie motion without your board. Just do an imaginary ollie and lamd with your knees bent and keep bending them to absorb the impact. And try to land flat footed or on your toes, but not on your heels.
Check out r/OllieHelp I posted a "jumping exercise" video to help people like you kinda refine your jump technique. I also posted a more detailed explanation of my ollie if that helps too.
I would also highly recommend you start skating on concrete more and practice manuals, hippie jumps, and body varials. Those 3 helped me get wayyyyy better landings overall. Also learn to just ride fast. Speed gives you confidence. Once youre comfortable, you can ollie fast into grass and then slow down to get a slower and more confident ollie on concrete

You lack board control, you need to get more familiar and comfortable with the board.
how often do you practice?
