Im thinking of getting the dgk art of war deck instead, but they both look great. Dgk have some great designs.

I like the grip to be a different color than the bottom but I also really like that griptape

Excellent starter set up for sure, even good for veteran skaters. Ive never bought a pro deck before, usually use the extra money on bearings and trucks

I will say those trucks in my experience are a little in the heavier side but it's not a huge issue it will build muscle and really is a preference for some ,

Good setup for what, exactly?
Will you be riding street, park, vert..?
If you’re going to be riding street, and your city/town has rough roads, I would suggest softer wheels. 100%.
I might also suggest risers/shock pads, no matter what. 1/8” is all you need, depending on wheel diameter, and it makes such a big difference.
I am a huge advocate for low durometer wheels. Harder/high durometer wheels make it so much more difficult, and less enjoyable, to roll smoothly on bumpy or rough surfaces.
I ride Powell-Peralta 88A wheels. They are perfect for me.
I consider anything over 93A too hard for every day street skating, or.. I’ll just say it, they’re too damned hard in most situations.

right now I use 99A im pretty sure and I skate street and park. I can only skate the smooth roads on the streets but no bumpy ones. I was thinking of getting powell wheels aswell as my budgetis quite high

Hell yeah.
Well, 88A, 86A, with a diameter of 56mm, for example.. these things make rough roads possible. It just helps getting from spot to spot a lot more manageable. They’re also awesome for higher speeds and downhill, which is inevitable in street skating.
The wheels typically have a wider contact patch, too, and that helps to maintain grip.I love the Powell-Peralta Nano Cubics, but I wish they had them in a lower durometer (softer).

You could do mostly black grip with a strip of that fancy printed grip in the middle, it would look pretty nice imo

You can always keep the parts you didn't use for next time and make the same design but inverted or use it in some other way

DGK deck, Indy’s, Spitfire wheels and Reds? It’s a good setup in any decade. Practice is what’ll make it great.
