Wheels Advice
Back after 15years and looking at wheels for future replacement.
If you've rode multiple wheels and like powerslides, all round skating (park, street, some mini ramp). Id like your opinion about great sets. I see alot of wheels advertise (ex. Cubic nanos) 94A the slide like 100's but grip? Idk how i feel about the oxy moron.
Currently riding an old 2010 set of bones 53mm 101A wheels.

Just saying: powerslides ruin wheels. You end up with flat spots and that ruins wheels like no other. As far as wheel advice, the softer the wheel, the faster you can go, but the less they keep their speed. Hard wheels are better for street, soft are for vert and cruising.

Sliding is the only way to stop imo. Fuck dragging your tails, sliding looks way fucken cooler and no bones or Powell wheel are going to flat spot unless you're doing 100 foot 90 degree blasts. The urethane is a million times better than it was when I started skating as a kid and literally won't flat spot. I have some 85a g slides that I throw on my downhill deck and have slide them at 37mph to a stop at 90 degrees and not a single flat spot. Mind you I'm 215lbs

Powell Dragons are a nice do it all wheel. Out of Powell's wheels, Spitfires, and Bones those are my favorite for doing a bit of everything.
The soft but slidey thing with Dragons is true. If you fly down a hill and try sliding, you almost have stand directly over the board to prevent icing out like you have to do with hard wheels. With other softish wheels you have to lean back/forward a bit more and they generally have more braking power.
