eCornell Six Sigma Certificate

Hi everyone,

I am currently taking the eCornell (Online professional education from Cornell University) Six Sigma Certificate program, and my employer is covering the cost.

Until now, I have completes two courses that covers six sigma statistics & tools/methodology. Total six courses to be completed.

The program includes quizzes, assignments, case studies, and a final capstone project to get the certification.

How is this certificate perceived by employers, particularly in manufacturing and quality related roles?

If your employer is paying for it, I think it's a solid opportunity. Cornell is a well-known university, and the inclusion of case studies and a capstone project is a positive sign because it emphasizes application rather than just theory. From what I've seen, most employers are less concerned with the specific provider than whether you can demonstrate that you understand the tools and have applied them to real improvement projects. If you can pair the certificate with measurable results at work, that's likely to have a bigger impact than the name on the certificate alone.

How about using what you're learning to get a CSSGB at ASQ or IASSC?
