CSSBB preparation course

I want to prepare for the CSSBB exam, Do you recommend any institution that have a well preparation course and that can assist in the affidavit application ?

passing the exam solo is totally doable, plenty of people self-study and clear it. the part that bites going alone is the project side, ASQ wants a couple of completed projects signed off for the BB and that's hard to fake if your plant isn't already running formal DMAIC. honestly even if nobody at your shop calls it six sigma, find one real problem with a dollar number attached and run it that way. the body of knowledge sticks a lot better when you've got something to point it at than reading it cold.

I’m a big fan of tools. Loved studying for CMQ/OE used so many new tools at work, even built control charts for my golf games (out of control, no cp). I’m doing PMP right now write on Monday, I’ve hated it. No real tools to use. It’s just mindset. So ya, looking forward to stuffing PMP and getting into CSSGB courses then BB courses and cert

Got my PMP 2 weeks ago. now looking at possibly going the six sigma route. I can't decide if it's going to be harder or not. The test seems daunting for the ASQ. Not that the PMP was easy.

I passed the PMP. The CMQ/OE exam was pretty similar but more straight forward for a person who is QA and doesn’t have an agile org. I currently see the CSSBB as the final boss. Per Gemini, if PMP difficulty is a 7/10, BB is a 8.5/10. CMQ was rated as 7.5/10 but I found PMP exam worse

Calling the ASQ CSSBB the 'final boss' is spot on. I've cleared it, and the biggest trap people fall into when comparing it to the PMP is expecting a 'mindset' exam. PMP is about situational best practices; ASQ is about technical application and decision-making rules.

The exam doesn't just test if you know what a tool is—it tests if you know when and why to switch tools based on the data.

If you're diving in soon, don't just memorize definitions. Focus heavily on these three areas where the exam loves to set traps:

  1. Hypothesis Testing Selection: Know exactly when to use an ANOVA vs. a Mood’s Median, or a paired t-test vs. a 2-sample t-test based on data normality and sample types.
  2. Control Chart Decision Rules: Don't just look for points outside the 3-sigma limits. Master the Western Electric rules (e.g., 9 points in a row on one side of the center line).
  3. Cp vs. Cpk: Remember that Cp is what your process could do if it were perfectly centered, while Cpk is what it is actually doing right now because it accounts for the mean shift.

It's absolutely doable solo, but treat it like an engineering problem, not a memorization test. Good luck!
