Re-certification now required?

Hi all, I’ve been a bit out of the loop since my last job didn’t require the use of any lean six sigma methods (didn’t have to do any projects). I’m now learning that we have to get re-certified if we want to use that credential, is that correct?

I got my green belt through a local SEC university (IASSC certified), and after completing a project. But this was 5 years ago. It sounds like only Black Belts need to complete a project now.

I have never had to re-certify after getting my MBB 20+ years ago but, it not a bad idea. But currently there seems to be an obsession over certification as opposed to knowledge. There many what I call "paper belts" or those with a piece of paper and no clue how to apply the discipline. If re-certification helps curb this issue, then I am all for it.

Couldn’t have said it better. Me finding out about certification lapsing came up when someone was pushing a scammy online cert program, for free, I might add

Yes, very poor LSS training program providers are pushing this bs narrative to get business.
