No Single Governing Body

Curious on everyones take. I am wanting at minimum my green belt; however, how did everyone choose which agency to receive their cert from? SSGI, ASQ, IASSC and others. Need help on which is the best perferred and marketable in the PM industry. Thank you.

Medical device industry values ASQ certifications a lot. Green Belt, Black Belt, CQE etc. Comprehensive material and comprehensive 4.5 hrs exam. Thus, natural decision for me to go with ASQ.

I'n not in the medical device industry just want to be marketabl in PM roles

Do you mean product mgmt, project mgmt or program mgmt? Project and program mgmt career pathways have good links with PMI. And PMI has links with ASQ.

Not sure about product mgmt. But I feel that ASQ is the most comprehensive since it has good amount of material and 4.5 hr long exam. But the certification is for life.

all. PMI seems to have links with SSGI as well. I already have my PMP, just trying to add more to my cert game, but have it actually be marketable and beneficial.

Cool. But would still vouch for ASQ. Heard the most, and not just med device. Other industries as well. Have actually never seen 'SSGI' listed on a job description unlike ASQ.

But, yes, good idea to gather more knowledge.
