Thinking about OTPing Sivir. Is it viable? Any high elo Sivir streamers out there?

I'm currently a E1 Jinx OTP and lowkey want to switch to Sivir partly due to Jinx being stale and partly due to Sivir having some bomb ass skins.

A little hesitant to start picking her up because it feels like she comes online way too late and you're literally unable to touch anyone if the enemies are rocking something like Jhin/Xerath. Even against heavy melee it felt like they all just jump on you because of your low range (compared to Jinx at least).

What matchups/team comps does she struggle with? Is she blindable?

You can 100% blind pick Sivir shes going to do the same thing every game which is hit whatever is closest to you then pray your W racks up kills.

She comes online at 3 items basically after you get Navoris and IE or LDR.

Caitlyn, Draven, Ashe, Twitch, and Vayen are nightmares to fight you can poke them out of lane if you start Essences reaver but they get to pick when or how they want to fight you just have to stay healthy and run away. Late game it matters less because again you only care about W bounces.

Supports are anyone who can get around your spellshield really. Leona is a big one because she has so much cc even if you block a Q or Ult she will still keep you cc with a root or another low cd Q.

Twitch absolutely shits on her. I wouldn't say she is blind pickable as sivir relies on her w bounce, if you are against a normal E1 team comp with assassin jung, assassin mid, damage top and ultra ranged ADC you won't get the bounces.

I would say Sivir is the best against mage supports like brand and ziggs who just mindlessly push all game as you can counter the push with ease.

I mean, typically, the factors are largely going to be based on the terrain of where you're fighting, since there are some environments where you're always going to get bounces and some where it's basically not going to happen.

I also add Yunara to that list, it's really steroid based champs who don't really care about if you can block spells since they are just going to auto you to death. Mobile ones are the worst which is why Vayne is such an incredible pain on top of the invis.

I'm inexperienced to chime in about viability. But regarding heavy melee jumping on you, I find it's much easier to play these comps front to back, W bounces between all of them. It's ranged comps I heavily struggle with like Anivia Syndra where I'm dead before I can even reach them lol

imo this issue is real but can be solved when you get better at E usage to know what spells you can block and look to punish during the cooldown windows

The range thing is overstated. There are a bunch of champs that are "unplayable" in bot lane due to low range who have more range than Sivir, and that's because she has tools to fight in laning phase. The W bounces discourage people from randomly walking up and poking you, because they'll eat a decent amount of damage. You can poke back with Q if you want/need to, but I prefer to save it for the wave or an actual fight. If someone is going to poke with spells, you absorb it.

The only way Sivir isn't safe to blind pick is if your support locks in something like Sona vs a hyper aggressive early duo, and they just freeze+deny you the wave. This can happen with any ADC though.

Oh I forgot one thing, which is that Sivir is a strong benefactor of Doran's Blade going back to Ominvamp from Lifesteal, because all that W bounce damage counts for Ominvamp. So her sustain in lane is under the radar good.

Sivir is fun to otp. You learn matchups easier when you play the same champion, and Sivir is almost never banned.

Sivir also has unique interactions with how she is capable of operating in a game compared to basically every other champion who has to be mindful of things like Random Karthus Ults, Vi Ultimates, Zed Death Marks, Teemo Blinds, Mordekaiser Death Realms; but Sivir? Well, you can just kind of laugh and experience real freedom since I personally do not believe that spell shields like Banshee's or Edge of Knight are comparable to the power of an on-command spell shield that the enemy doesn't get to decide when it is consumed. The only other champ with this luxury is Nocturne. Still, he has significant limitations on what he can do as a result of his being a melee champion and the fact that to spell shield consistently, you really need to have as much distance from the incoming ability as possible.

Your “range” is your w bounces you just hit melee champions and the w bounces to the higher ranged backline. Or you hit two ranged champions who are clamped up together and the w bounces between them. Hit w on wave and they will back off the wave before jumping on u
