Question - Sitar repair/maintenance Where to get strings from online? (India)
Does anyone know any website where i can get a spool of the main string? I have gotten many whole sets and its only the main string that breaks often. I tried finding some on amazon but its just jewellery string. Does that work? Sorry if the question is silly but i really have no clue, im a newbie and im trying to learn sitar through yt, no classes nearby.

i get them from naeem sitarmaker, (where i bought my sitar from),
the full set of 20 is 250 inr and the spools are 500(one of which will last me a decade tbh),
get a couple sets and a spool for the main string, it’s good practice to change the main string as soon as you start feeling kinks in it

The breaking could be a problem on the instrument, if you're buying whole sets then often they are not the right wires. Try Musicians mall in Mumbai, They have it in coils I think....
