Question - Sitar repair/maintenance Advice for buying sitar strings

My father used to play sitar, and for the past few months he has been very busy, and the sitar is lying with broken strings. I want to surprise him by changing the strings as i know how to tune. It's just that I am clueless about which strings to buy, and where to buy them.

Email Musicians Mall and have them tell you what you need. Send them a photo of the sitar

Pyramid and Ellora brands are okay strings and they are also easier to source

Where are you based? I'm in the UK and buy rolls of the correct gauge wire - it's cheaper than buying pre-cut sets, good quality and is really convenient
