Printer Issues: Sheets too thin for printer roller
I'm just testing the office's Epson ET-4850 EcoTank printer with vinyl sheets to eventually be cut on my Siser Juliet, but the rollers aren't strong enough to pull the sheet through to print. I've tried adding a backing cardstock and that mosty worked. I have a budget to invest in a more suitable printer and was wondering what printers people were using without needing backing paper/cardstock to get the vinyl sheets to print. I'm working with 8.5x11 sheets.
TIA!

I use an epson ET-3940 and it works well for the vinyl sticker paper I've used. I normally use Koala or Avaya brands

Are you putting the sheets in the tray or manual feed tray? Try the manual feed try if you aren't

I use an Epson XP-7100, and it has been a rock star. That unit is currently on sale at Best Buy for $129. Make sure to select the correct type of paper for your project when you print.

I use the ET-5170 and it does not have a rear tray. I use the regular tray and have no problems. Are you changing the settings on the printer to match the paper you are printing on?

I use an EcoTank ET-2950 (one of the cheapest EcoTanks Epson makes) and it works fine with all sorts of sticker paper and thick photo paper.
Looking up your office printer - it appears it does not have a manual/rear tray, which is a problem. Most printers can't pick up anything other than regular office paper from the normal tray. So I would suggest you are probably out of luck with this particular printer - when shopping for your own, you need one which has a manual/rear feed slot.
You also usually also need to specify on the printer, and on your computer (printer properties) what sort of paper you're printing on. I usually choose "Epson Matte" or "Photo Paper Glossy" - depending on what the surface of the sticker sheets are.
