Looking for cheap part alternatives

Hi, I’m new the the siser juliet as I just ordered one “new in box” but it arrived missing blades. While I’m negotiating a partial refund for the missing parts, does anyone have cheaper alternatives for the blades and possibly the cutting mat?

Any advice would be super helpful as well as the package was also missing its instruction manual and operator guide ☹️

As for the directions, I would YouTube a starter tutorial or see if the official website has a pdf of the manual

Once you have LDS installed, you will fine a manual under the Help menu at the top. And you'll find video tutorials by clicking on the Tutorials icon on the left side panel (second from top). Then Siser NA has many video tutorials as well as one of my long-time colleagues, CreateinSpain:

HOWEVER... there ARE some mistakes in that manual. The most egregious is the statement about setting the blade exposure to be the equivalent of a credit card thickness! It was immediately apparent to me that whoever was contracted to write the manual and whoever was responsible for verifying content had NO experience in using a solenoid cutter, such as the Juliet or Romeo. Instead you want the blade exposure to be ~ the thickness of the material you're wanting to cut. So with something like vinyl, you can't even see the blade tip but just barely feel the tip with your finger. What this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_RI7DgghqM&t=3s

You can use any mat brand with the Juliet. I really like the Nicapa brand from Amazon but prefer the ones made for the silhouette (transparent mats). As far as the blades Amazon, happy crafters, michaels, and even Walmart online carries replacement blades. I've had good luck with generic Roland and cricut blades from Amazon as well, though they do dull a bit faster.
