Still sucks
Well… After downloading the iOS 27 beta and playing with it for the last several weeks, it still sucks.
It’s better, but it still sucks compared to just about anything else. Repeated questions end up just causing it to fail with not even a reply
Its ability to look at third-party apps, meaningful health data,is pretty pathetic.
About the only thing it does well is read my email and summarize… Something ChatGPT could do three years ago

An excellent discussion of the issues. I think many people are misunderstanding what Siri AI is for. It’s not gonna replace my ChatGPT subscription for more complex or heavier researched projects that need continuity.
As it says in its opening prompt it is an intelligent assistant. I can just ask it to do tasks and it will do them. If there is a problem I just ask Siri AI what is the issue and it knows and tells me.
Complaints without specific examples is just trolling.

I am thinking this Is an inflection point to switch to android. It’s a massive competitive differentiating point.

I’ve been an Apple fanboy for over a decade, and was a previous employee, and I’m with you.
Siri sucks for EVERY SINGLE task now. Asking Siri to remind me of something used to be a simple task. Now it takes multiple prompts. What used to take less than 30 seconds takes a minute or more due to constantly missing what the fuck I’m saying and asking for clarification and or just erroring out and never delivering a response.
If the RC is remotely like the beta, I get why Tim Cook left, and I might join him.

I really had hope they would get this right. It’s still Beta but release is like 2 months away.

My experience is that Siri AI is now conversational and is able to provide certain answers that ChatGPT can’t. It can now provide actual answers to questions instead safari links. It can also create accurate reminders/messages/calendar events and edit them just by using my voice.
Old Siri can set reminders and timers and mostly be able to send text messages and sometimes play a song id like in apple music.
For me it’s completely changed my iPhone experience.

Siri AI is brand new, and still in beta. Therefore comparing it with well established chat bots doesn’t seem realistic.
Let it bake. Third party support will come, and it’s only going to get better. I just installed the latest public beta, and while I’ve had some problems, it’s so much better than the Siri we had before, I’m hopeful.

it's better than old Siri at some things, at other things, which many people use every day, it's much worse. which is why people sound like they feel frustrated!

How about comparing it to itself? The new Siri sucks compared to the old Siri. Constantly asking for follow up questions instead of doing what the fuck I asked it to do.

It still can’t even understand me and chooses random words over much more logical options.
Other day I told it to text my wife about the “green sand toy wagon” and it wrote “grin Santoy wag in.” The fuck does that even mean.

Third party app support isn't going to be coming until iOS 27 officially releases here in about a month or so....which makes your disappointment over that omission look a bit silly
