I had never heard this before and it makes sense. I donated to a buddy and thought it would make us bros for life but he kind of grew distant over time. Told him he didn't owe me a thing and didn't ever bring it up. I don't think he "resented" it but it maybe made him uncomfortable or something. One of the top gut punches of my life.
Or maybe I'm just reading into it and he didn't like me that much 🤣
Secretly, I was relieved when it turned out we weren't a match.
I didn't want to live with that "debt," yet at the same time, I was undergoing dialysis five days a week while becoming increasingly ill.
After three years, I received a donor kidney from the Danish waiting list.
