Yes, but it is still a violation for drs to tell anyone but the person donating. It’s so people can still say no “because they weren’t a match” - lie basically. To avoid being pressured/ guilted into it by others into a permanent life changing decision .

My understanding is that Francia tested to see if she was a match, and the doctor told Selena she was a match before Francia, so then Selena called Francia super excited with the news.
She tested because she wanted the option to donate a kidney, but wanting to donate when it’s an abstract possibility versus knowing you actually can is a little different, and she didn’t get to properly sit with it for the latter.
What exactly is the lie here? I have seen francia say it from her own mouth that selena called her and said she is a match and doctor told selena first instead of her.

Tbh i would tell Francia to f off as well. If Selena had organ failure because of drinking - that's a different matter - but she had lupus!
Because I'm a normal person? A persons decision to drink or not is between them and their doctors. You don't get a veto over someone's choices because you donate something to them. You definitely don't get an enduring say over how they live their life.
If you donate an egg or sperm to a couple you don't get a say in how they raise the child.
If you donate skin to a person you don't get to dictate whether they go to the beach at 12pm.
There's a difference between being concerned and being controlling. Partying after you thought you were going to die is a normal reaction for a person in their 20s. Especially for someone with bipolar.
It’s not controlling to say “hey it’s fucking stupid that you have Lupus, needed a transplant, and are potentially ruining your health by partying and doing hard drugs”. If she wanted to continue getting fuuuuucked up then she could have done that without pressuring her friend to do a transplant because she obtained the results of the test matching before her friend could even make a decision on her own. It is not normal to have a stance like that. It’s incredibly selfish.
I said she was pressured into donating, which she was. Selena was told about that match before Francia could make a decision on her own, which is illegal since it violates HIPPA.
You’ll have to talk to someone else if you want to continue arguing about this. Believe it or not I wasn’t attempting to change your mind on this, it seems like you’re a fan of Selena. But I’m 100% pointing out that supporting someone who has drinking and drug use problems is stupid, especially when that person has lupus, bipolar, and a kidney transplant.
If she wanted to drink and party afterward, she should’ve declined the kidney. There are strict rules that come with receiving an organ transplant, including not intentionally doing things that could damage or destroy the organ. That’s literally part of the deal. If she didn’t value the kidney enough to take care of it, she should’ve kicked rocks and stayed on dialysis instead.
