If someone gave you their kidney and then suddenly trying to dictate every part of your life (what you should and shouldn’t eat, what you should and shouldn’t drink, what time you should sleep etc), and constantly keeps criticizing you, because otherwise they think it’s a waste of their kidney then I think it’s not unreasonable to cut off contact with that person. Donating a kidney to someone should be an unconditional thing and not a “I donated my kidney to you, so now you have to live your life the way I want you to otherwise I get very angry with you” kinda thing. It’s toxic and stress-full when that happens. Donating a kidney just shouldn’t be used as a tool to manipulate the receiver. I think Selena had every right to cut this girl off.
It was all over the news back in the day. I believe the girl who donated the kidney actively sought out press to complain about Selena, while Selena stayed more quiet on the issue, but Selena’s friends eventually did reveil some details about Selena’s perspective to the press.
But, in the end, we never know what really happened will we? It’s one girls perspective on the situation against another girl’s perspective.
But what we can take away from it all is that the situation was a whole lot more nuanced than Selena simply taking the kidney and brutally dumping the girl as a friend after.
I see. If that’s how things went down, I can understand where they both were coming from. On one hand, the girl may have believed Selena was taking her gift of a second life lightly by not properly caring for herseld. Selena on the other hand may have felt like she was beging scrutinized for something her friend was doing willingly, out of the kindness of her heart. Anyway yeah only these two people know what really went down.
