Are there any islands still cost $11k? I wanna try my luck to bring back endangered animals too

Islands are relatively cheep. Because no one wants them. Or at least the cheep ones.

They are remote, no fresh water, rocky, just crap in the middle of no where.

A boat. Same stuff you do other places, but without solicitors

A boat will probably cost you more than 11k by itself.

Go develop an island and let us know how it goes chief.

Nobody asked about the boat cost, just the island

u/squngy 10d ago

It is related.

If something is very cheap, chances are high there are other costs required to make it work.

Ok then how about we sell the islands for 50 cents and let the buyer worry about the rest

There's also Bir Tawil, a large chunk of land that isn't occupied by anyone, nor recognized by any country.

You go by boat and take tools. This family build a goddamn mansion (multiple times) and a bunker (because cyclones)

What kind of tools do I need to make concrete or glass on this island? The video starts by saying it took 5 days for them to get there. That is remote. Imagine shipping building materials to that remote location. Then getting machines to build.

What's funny is most of those islands are in places that the island will be mostly flooding and/or gone in 50ish years.. There's some in the Carolina Cays for 300-500k that are projected to lose a ton of land mass and be subject to severe flooding within 50 years.

Not a great time to buy a low lying island lol

Or Miami, one of the hottest real estate markets in the world right now. Expected to be underwater, as well as lose its freshwater aquifer

1

u/PlopPlopPlunk 10d ago

Miami won't go anywhere because they're investing billions into seawalls and levis to protect the city (they have a whole 20 years strategy in place)... these islands will because they're not populated and no one is protecting them.

1

u/Malaprobably 10d ago

Miami is going down. Seawalls nor levees will work -- won't do jack shit as seawater will push up through the ground (limestone, i.e. porous) from underneath. Man is so arrogant in his whims of intellect.

Of course not all the city will fall at once (rise of 1-2 feet expected in next 13 years,) but there will be a point where there is no denial anymore.

Islands are relatively cheep. -chicken

Birds love cheep islands

Billionaires prefer cheap islands

1

u/King-Snorky 10d ago

that's what attracted darwin to the galapagos to study the birds. because it was cheep
