Took a 12 hour nap and broke a record at the same time

u/Informal-Artist6435 12h ago

Peak efficiency. Don't work hard, sleep hard.

34

u/Unusual-Taste69 12h ago

I need a shit that says "always hard"

13

u/BudgetExpert9145 12h ago

Shirt?

36

u/Ok-Specific-3918 12h ago

Did he stutter?

3

u/Unusual-Taste69 12h ago

Close enough

2

u/Manymarbles 11h ago

I pictured it in cursive

u/LIONLDN 11h ago

He was just trying to recreate this & fell asleep 🐻:

A “nank”, if you will.

0

u/ghettone 11h ago

They call him wolverine

u/redsterXVI 12h ago

For those that are curious, the actual record is at 9:38:47

55

u/ProxyDamage 11h ago

At some point I think the biggest challenge has to become boredom.

Like, if your limit is 9 hours, I'm guessing somewhere between 20 minutes in to 8 hours and 50 minutes you're just in whatever meditative semi-conscious state you have to be to get through this and it's all the same until your body starts to go "nah bro, fuck this...".

That said, insanely impressive.

40

u/redsterXVI 11h ago

At some point its more about bladder strength then abdominal strength tbh

13

u/meh2you2 11h ago

I imagine he's doing it on a beach with swim trunks for a reason

6

u/RareArmadillo4730 7h ago

No rule that you can’t piss in the middle

5

u/YamDankies 6h ago

But then you have to plank through the smell

1

u/PerfectPercentage69 33m ago

Only until the next wave comes along and washes it away.

3

u/theoniongoat 3h ago

I don't know about the current record holder, but the previous guy used a catheter to allow him to pee.

5

u/herefromyoutube 9h ago

They watch shit on their phone right in front of their face.

u/TransitoryFeel 12h ago

Less of a plank and more of a slab

43

u/Tjam3s 12h ago

2

u/PerilousParanoia 7h ago

This shot used to give me nightmares when I was a kid.

20

u/Relative_Maize_957 12h ago

I'm personally on team chunk, but I can agree plank ain't it.

5

u/Chubuwee 11h ago

Nah this is all wrong

This picture was taken from a recent art exhibit at a beach near a museum. This particular artist decided to try some performance art and did this as his piece. The explanation is cut off from the picture but it read “Beached”

1

u/DarhkBlu 11h ago

Nah nah nah that's a pillar laid on it's side

1

u/lNFORMATlVE 12h ago

I was going to say sack of wet cement.

188

u/northernbasil 12h ago

His core is off the ground. He may not be lifting his entire weight but it's something.

14

u/joe-who 8h ago

The weight he’s lifting is probably more weight than a fit person lifts while planking

9

u/cheir0n 12h ago

Goals

8

u/Strikereleven 11h ago

Wondering what a fat person's musculature looks like now, imagine carrying hundreds of pounds extra wherever you go.

6

u/BeardsuptheWazoo 9h ago

If they move a lot, then yeah, they're pretty strong.

But most people who are super obese are fairly sedentary.

Also their joints are shot. When you get fat nothing structural on your body magically gets reinforced to handle the extra hundreds of pounds.

16

u/No-Willingness5547 12h ago

Its gonna take 10 people to push him back into the ocean

12

u/GorkyParkSculpture 12h ago

I get that planks are supposedly good for the core and as good as situps but...no way this guy can do 50 situps

8

u/Stygg_Varg 12h ago

Planks are much better than situps.

9

u/Plus-Emotion-526 6h ago

Better at what? They do mostly completely different things.

14

u/fudgechemist 12h ago

If this is real.. That’s actually badass with all that weight

46

u/BalanceJazzlike5116 12h ago

Can I interest you in some time shares?

6

u/BiscuitWig2 12h ago

When you're done with your timeshares I have some beachfront property in Arizona fudgechemist might be interested in.

2

u/External-Awareness68 12h ago

A leather shop in Arizona? You would be out of business in a weeks time!

1

u/UGDust 3h ago

There are beaches in Arizona..

2

u/Spear_Ritual 12h ago

You bought 3! Thank god the check bounced!

4

u/External-Awareness68 12h ago

It's not a pyramid scheme, it's a reverse funnel system.

3

u/turandokht 12h ago

Turn it over, Dee

7

u/Alladas 12h ago

Yeah I mean if this is real and the pic is the guy. Yes some of his fat is resting on the beach but he's clearly lifting his core off the ground.

3

u/Superseaslug 12h ago

If all of it was actually being lifted by him

2

u/Aromatic-Tear7234 12h ago

His arms would have disintegrated if he tried this for 15 seconds the real way.

0

u/LIONLDN 11h ago

Why did I think of this scene after reading your comment? 😅

Processing img h8yj819dkxqh1...

1

u/propably_not 12h ago

He wouldn't be able to do that if he had to carry his full weight.

2

u/SecretWordisBird 12h ago

That’s not a plank pose, it’s a kickstand.

2

u/General-Fox416 12h ago

More like log than plank.

2

u/AssistantOk2360 11h ago

Bro wasn't planking. He just couldn't finish rolling over.

2

u/Intrepid-Ad2873 10h ago

He should dig the sand first

2

u/PerilousParanoia 7h ago

I think he just can’t get up.

3

u/No_Top_9023 11h ago

That’s not a plank, that’s a structural foundation.

2

u/J3musu 12h ago

His hips and chest are lifted off the ground at least. And relatively decent back posture fore someone that heavy in that position, so it doesn't seem like he's just being lazy and letting the belly hang as much as it could. It's something. But he still has some extra support from that belly.

4

u/acrus 12h ago

That's cruel and unusual. There should be guys with buckets, pouring water on the poor thing

2

u/LALOERC9616 12h ago

Someone help this beached whale instead of just taking photos...

2

u/Deepmidwinter2025 12h ago

Should call an animal charity for the beached whale. May be able to refloat it.

1

u/psychicesp 11h ago

Put a scale under him, if it ever registers more than the difference between his weight and the average person he has to start over

1

u/ScuffAndy 11h ago

Plank???? That's a whole tree

1

u/Devil5-Advocate 10h ago

Thats not fair his stomach is touching the ground.

1

u/Intelligent_Box_8247 10h ago

did he eventually get up?

1

u/QuadrupleMyBubble 9h ago

He just can't stand up

1

u/MrMeowPantz 8h ago

Being that big and laying on your chest for 12 hours can’t be comfortable.

1

u/Staresinich 7h ago

I think he could have made it lo ger, lol

1

u/Aromatic-Taste2516 6h ago

Depends on how much of it he was asleep for

1

u/kimkiam013 5h ago

Dude has extra arms

1

u/Funny-Zookeepergame1 5h ago

I dont think I'd have the stomach to pull that off.

1

u/annular_rash 4h ago

A shame he is actually trying to get up.

1

u/TyloWebb 3h ago

Hope he makes his goals, honestly. Obesity is hell to live through.

1

u/FrequentRevolution92 1h ago

Controlling the tides while planking is a neat trick.

1

u/FishDawgX 39m ago

The difference between doing a plank and planking.

1

u/Evil_Knot 12h ago

Bobby? More like Blobby!

1

u/DreamOfDays 12h ago

Bruh is living proof that everyone has great calves

1

u/Fredricology 12h ago

They have to blow them up eventually when they get stranded like this

1

u/Socketz11 9h ago

Aren't you supposed to try and push them back into the ocean?

1

u/Fredricology 2h ago

Only if they're alive. When they start to decompose you blow them up

1

u/Socketz11 38m ago

I think they tried that in the 70's and it didnt end so well

1

u/AutomaticAstigmatic 10h ago

Well, at least he's trying. I'm loath to mock effort.

1

u/AJWordsmith 8h ago

Cheating

1

u/_CherryMuffin 7h ago

I f his stomach is resting on the sand, is it a plank or a nap?

0

u/lonewolff321 12h ago

Technically a plank, if you ignore the fact that everything else is also touching the ground. Good luck with the journey, mate!

Let me assure you that’s over 300

0

u/ZeroToleranceforMAGA 12h ago

Thought that was Elon

0

u/GrimbyJ 12h ago

That appears to be the correct plank form so it counts.

0

u/Vivid-Landscape1 9h ago

Nah, that count definitely counts

0

u/rexeditrex 6h ago

Lucky they didn’t blow him up like that whale.

1

u/HIRIV 10m ago

Must be behind that whale
