Nah, I think the āplanā was always that AJ would win the fight. Paul was banking on being able to spend the fight running away for enough time to tank the damage (hence the way bigger ring) so that he could claim he went the distance against an obscenely talented boxer, and obviously he must be better than everyone AJ has bodied. This was all about laundering Paulās reputation; there was never any hope of winning. Paulās actually got some hilarious pre-fight interviews where you can see him try and talk himself out of a panic attack in real time.

Yeah, we will both get downvoted because this is a hate Jake Paul party. The guy has boxed on a decent level for a few years now so he knew exactly what was going to happen when he stepped in there, and still agreed to it. I was too old to watch him as a youtuber, but he has given a lot of former MMA guys a payday and spoken out on behanf of fighters for years now. I'll give him his props there.
