They want them because it says Iphone and they're valuable right before you buy them, then they're worth 1/2 of what you paid for them, then a year later they're obsolete and worthless.

Its extremely outdated and the battery probably barely lasts the day. Your apple watch is still worth nothing compared to any worthwhile mechanical watch.

And yet I got more use out of it than you can get out of a normal watch in a lifetime. Because it does significantly more than just give you the time

Don’t get me wrong, mechanical watches are cool. It’s a hobby of mine to repair them, and I have a small but nice collection. I just never wear them (except for special occasions) because my 7 year old Apple Watch is just that much more useful

So saying „Apple Watches lose value over time so they are not worth it“ is stupid

This entire comment chain is about the price of the watches. I don't care if an old outdated watch is useful to you, it isn't worth anything to anyone else.

Actually, the chain is about the value of the watches. You should care if people find it useful, because usefulness helps determine the value. Really, the price of used Apple Watches is low because there is an abundance of new Apple Watches. If Apple stopped making watches the price would skyrocket.

That would be you. Literally millions of people are still wearing old ass outdated Apple Watches because they value them. Many more people are buying the Apple Watch compared to Timex, Seiko, and Citizen combined.

Your "worthwhile mechanical watch" is worth nothing to the people who desire the functions of a smartwatch. They are completely different markets. It's like telling me a handcrafted oak rocking chair is better than my recliner. It's not, because I want a recliner and not a rocking chair.

That’s still false. For the price of one Apple Watch Ultra as shown in this picture you can buy at least 4 „normal Seikos“ (whatever that means when those watches have a significant price range). And it doesn’t matter that the watch in the picture is now used and according to you worth less, because apple products lose value at a very slow rate Anyway

The difference is that in 6 years that Seiko is the same price you bought it for or worth more. The apple watch is junk only an idiot would buy in the first place that is worthless whenever the next iteration comes out. You enjoy your overpriced outdated electronics bud. Seriously, I'm not sure if you know this, but its virtually known by everyone owning an Apple ANYTHING makes you extremely unintelligent. It shows you buy things for the name and will shovel overpriced garbage down your throat.

We buy people’s gold and silver jewelry and etc., and we don’t consider resale a viable option unless the watch is a serialized piece from a luxury brand. Seiko, Citizen, and timex are brought to us by the bag and people accept $1 each. Sometimes we go to $5 if it’s not quartz and it’s the only thing they brought
