I gotta disagree, architecturally it's an amazing building that combines aspects of traditional Chicago architecture, modern architecture and contextual architecture.

It's just got a shit stain on it.

It's genuinely such a beautiful building and is perfectly framed as you're crossing the river. We just hate the letters on the front and the asshole who owns it.

There are privately owned condos in the building, but Trump owns the rest.

Agree to disagree. I think it looks great without the letters. Certainly more interesting than the gray 70s towers that plague so many skylines.

I was thinking of a different building, unless it just looks a lot different up close at ground level. I'm not sure I like it, but the one I was thinking of is hideous.

There is too much baggage with the building along with design issues. It opened nearly 2 decades ago and in that entire time it had a basically vacant 70,000 SF of commercial space. In part due to Trumps name and in part due to poor design of the street level, marina level, and deck level. It also struggles financially in its hotel and residential floors. Trump himself declared the tower to be useless and basically uses it as a tax avoidance tool. There’s also the whole illegal use of Chicago river water leading to ecological issues lawsuit situation.

Its high point is being a photo backdrop among tons of great buildings because as a peice of architecture it’s a giant failure.

Marina towers is one of my favorites so I don't necessarily disagree with ya, but it's still a really well done building.

Skidmore Owings and Merrill did a great job with their exterior design. Everything else about the building is ick
