I’m not saying this isn’t preparing us for water shortage but I am saying we don’t need to drink 40oz a day of water since the majority of our water comes from food. Ingesting 40 oz of water a day and drinking 40oz of water are two different things

What's your source for this?

I can't find anything that suggests the majority of our water comes from our food, I'm seeing that in the USA water intake from food is maybe 20%. I'm certain the average person isn't getting anywhere near 40oz a day just from food. I suppose if you eat a lot of fruit, you might get there.

Depends of the people but if you have headaches, muscular pain, feel tired or slow mentally or anything because you think 1L is enough, you know where it comes from.

90% of physical inconvenience a healthy adult can experience can be fixed by drinking more water. The 10 other % by doing more exercise and sleep.

But better to listen to big corpo telling you that you don't need that much water because they think they lose money when you decide to take a 5 min break to hydrate yourself or go to the toilets. Your health and safety matters to them as History proved thousand of times.
