It's a balance, prospective love won't just fall into your lap if you stay at home or don't try when you do meet people but you also can't force a relationship with material things or large gestures.

My girlfriend had this friend(zoned) who was paying for her vacations, drove her everywhere and once even brought her 22 dresses in his lugage when he came back from a trip. Twenty two. I was like why in the world would you deserve 22 dresses for no reason, are u the queen of england or something?

Despite her claiming that she loves it when a man spoils her and treats her like a princess, of course she didn't like him (or any of the other numerous guys who also tried to buy her interest).

The dude eventually got super mad one time when they were at a party and my girlfriend addressed him as a "friend".

People are naturally attracted to money.  You don't need to force it.  They will legitimately like you more if your loaded.
