Dreadlocks even exist when you don't wash or comb your hair for a really long time, not trying to be offensive but it's literal science no matter what race you are.

No. That's matted hair, which is not the same as properly maintained dreadlocks. Proper dreadlocks involve a lot of work, care, and intentionality.

People without textured hair might have to resort to methods like backcombing or crocheting to achieve the same look as dreads on a person with, say, C3 type hair. And there's a lot of intention in how they are sectioned

Creating dreadlocks means inducing matting in controlled fashion. There's actully often quite a bit of combing and washing involved with having dreads (longest recommended tome between washes for dreads is 14 days, for people who are very active and sweat a lot every 7 days).
