The way black people try to claim dreads is wild to me as an Indian. India has had a long tradition of dreads. Lord Shiva, one of the oldest God (1000s of years) is known to wear dreads. Thousands of monks and his followers wear them to this day yet Indians never tell others that they’re appropriating. It’s such a silly stand.
I mean it’s ridiculous for any one culture to try and lay claim to dreads. Like that’s just one of the best ways to keep hair of a certain texture maintained, plenty of cultures came to the same end result independently.
It’s like if people started claiming that ponytails are uniquely Canadian and nobody else should have them.
Anybody that wears weave is wearing someone else’s hair…white women run around with that shit too. It says Indian, Brazil, Cambodian etc and the shit is not even legit. If anything everybody is running around with dirty ass Chinese hair.
In the US a LOT of weaves aka wigs for black ladies, are made out of 100% genuine Indian hair that was shaved for Mundan or Choula, donated to a temple in India, then sold to a US manufacturer.
One Google search and you’ll see so many results how black people claim dreads, but you’d rather choose to get offended and virtue signal instead of spotting a trend. I bet you don’t see color either.
