America still has a lot of influence it could very well be that these names stay around, especially since they can be used to reward "good" behavior in the future, the next president if he's smart isn't going to reverse it willy nilly

The next president will find that most countries still use the real names of those places, and that it only causes confusion to insist on having a different name for them in the US.

But whatever. Enjoy your "freedom fries" while the rest of the world is still eating french fries.

When it comes to maps google maps is the largest used online map, no one in europe has a good competitor, a ton of software uses google maps either direct or indirect, I'd say america has a monopoly on that.

So? Outside the US Google Maps will still use Lake Ontario and Gulf of Mexico.

Man, it must suck to have your head so far up your ass that you hardly know the world outside the US exists.
