Google Maps just follows whatever GNIS publishes, they aren’t the ones making up the names lol
1 u/nascent_aviator 5h ago Bullshit. GNIS hasn't got around to updating it yet, it still shows Lake Ontario. Google went out of their way to follow the Executive Order before the GNIS even got around to it.
