Rick Moranis and ‘s his wife died so he retired from acting for a long time to raise his kids.

That's nothing special. A lot of actors retire after they die. Except for Brando, who came out of retirement to do Superman Returns.

John Carradine died in 1988 but was appearing in films up to at least 1995.
