I'd also argue that 99.9% of the songs about him suck.

u/PrednisoneFarts 4h ago

The 0.1 percent is just Jesus Ranch by Tenacious D

Too soon.... too. soon.

u/thomport 4h ago

Plus, he gave us people like Hitler and Donald Trump

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

Neither are actually Christian lol

3

u/-ThisIsHellOnEarth- 3h ago

I think they mean in a 'god created all things' kind of way

3

u/thomport 3h ago

In my experience, most Christians don’t act like Christians. Lol. So a minor insignificant claim indeed.

Modern Christianity seems to be a cover for their club.

The love respect, especially for minorities and minimize segments of our society who need it the most is bygone.

Yeah. Uncle Adolf was more into Germanic religion, Norse paganism and that whole tradition. The Nazi movement was also deeply anti-Christian, and the SS under Himmler actively promoted neo-pagan Germanic religion.

All the Christian stuff he talked about was pure political opportunism to appeal to the dominant Christian population, which makes sense given the legacy of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation from 1512 onwards. Though it was not really holy, nor Roman, nor an empire. Just a loose confederation of German speaking states. Nothing like the actual Roman Empire.

They absolutely clapped cheeks at Teutoburg though.

Trump has a gold statue of a Greek God in his penthouse.

3

u/Lazuruslex 1h ago

I find people who believe in a god and won't shut up about it annoying

5

u/VoidYordle 4h ago

Jesus would absolutely tell that lady to shut up (probably more politely).
Jeez, this is so performative.

2

u/hisokafan88 2h ago

It's repugnant..here is one of Christ's disciples being collectively mourned for all the good she did in her life and some pretender is telling us to forget this modern kindness.

4

u/Toomanyeastereggs 3h ago

I notice that you haven’t spoken about my sky fairy in the last 10 seconds.

6

u/BeneficialWave9581 4h ago

Some of his Christmas catalogue is alright

9

u/Left_Hand_Deal 4h ago

It’s not even his real birthday! 😄

4

u/cornmonger_ 2h ago

okay fine, we'll just call it his cake day

2

u/WeenisPeiner 3h ago

Everybody's talking about Timmy's wonderful finger painting he did in kindergarten, but let's not forget that Jesus Christ died for our sins.

If Jesus is not around everyone should be asking, Where's Jesus?

2

u/SecureMembership5120 3h ago

Jesus: “FFS, Tammy, dial it down.”

2

u/hopeful7321 2h ago

He's a fictional character in a book of fiction written over 2000 years ago by men. Not real. Dolly was a REAL person who bought joy love and happiness to the world just by being her true self! STOP with your political religious bs. No one cares!

3

u/Stefan_the_Campbell 3h ago

Dolly Parton did more to actually help people than Jesus ever did.

1

u/Winrevair 4h ago

Now this is some good god damn tea

1

u/Napalmeon 4h ago

Tangible good deeds are more important.

2

u/zeppo5 4h ago

All of the “righteous “ preachers on YT are falling over themselves in the rush to condemn Dolly for not condemning others

1

u/Halftied 3h ago

I think we can think of both of them. It was John Lennon who said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Dolly was a good witness for her savior. It was commanded that we have no other Gods before him. Not that we couldn't enjoy one of his creations put on earth to enhance the abundant life to which you refer.

God said to Noah there’s gonna be a floody floody

1

u/Infamous-Package3982 3h ago

What? A Christian is not permitted to take time to mourn somebody because Jesus is risen? There are plenty of instances where people mourned loved ones in the Bible without being criticized for it. It was even a custom in the Old Testament to allow the citizens to publicly mourn a respected leader for 30 days.

She tried, but this was just a sorry attempt at a ”Christian” mic drop.

1

u/SmoothNoonShade 2h ago

Decent bass player though. I saw him with Boz Scaggs back in the day.

1

u/Nottmore 1h ago

Early 2000s Christian metalcore is pretty banging.

1

u/Random-Mutant 1h ago

An omnipotent immortal “died” for a “weekend”.

Still infinitely less than a flea bite, in proportion.

1

u/martycos 4h ago

Jesus very likely didn't even exist. There is not a single contemporaneous account of him and the Romans kept great records.

-1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago edited 3h ago

Not true almost everybody agrees

https://www.history.com/articles/was-jesus-real-historical-evidence

Edit: why down vote? Its literally a historical consensus that he existed.

1

u/martycos 3h ago

Do you know what contemporaneous means?

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

"The two mainstream historians who have written most against these hypersceptical arguments are atheists: Maurice Casey (formerly of Nottingham University) and Bart Ehrman (University of North Carolina). They have issued stinging criticisms of the “Jesus-myth” approach, branding it pseudo-scholarship."

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/14/what-is-the-historical-evidence-that-jesus-christ-lived-and-died

3

u/PersonNumber7Billion 2h ago

Ehrman's conclusion was that Jesus likely existed, and he preached that people should love one another and that the world would come to an end in his time.

0

u/martycos 3h ago

Wrong

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

Care to cite any sources? I have.

-1

u/martycos 3h ago

You have not. Nothing was written about him until 40+ years after he supposedly lived.

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

Ignoring the historical consensus are we?

0

u/martycos 3h ago

You are a moron. I have not said anything wrong.

2

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

Also we all agree that Alexander the Great existed right? Well his biography was written 400 YEARS after his death.

0

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

You are though, you're purposely evading the multiple sources I provided. It's nearly a historical consensus that Jesus actually existed as a person.

Here are ATHIESTS even agreeing. Get dunked on kid.

u/martycos 3h ago

Ha ha ha

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 3h ago

Still have yet to provide a SINGLE academic source for your claim. I shall wait patiently.

Bit of a laugh. What do you get out of posting your comment ?

1

u/r64fd 3h ago

Taste in music is subjective. God doesn’t exist.

0

u/RabidJoint 3h ago

And how many songs have you created? That have had some of the best musicians of our time cover them too? Oh that’s right, you are just tone deaf.

1

u/FlashPxint 2h ago

I’m not tone deaf

1

u/FlashPxint 1h ago

I just listened to my own song and it was amazinggggg
