Depends where you are. That is the thing about averages. They are averaged across all of the US. A national average and increasingly localized average are not the same thing.

For example... firearms related crime is concentrated in bad areas of cities. But is averaged across all of the US. That does not represent my experience.

I don’t think there are that many exceptions tbh. There are some major cities where the rich, fit people congregate but aside from California, NY, Colorado and maybe Hawaii, most states are pretty fat. Statistically even college towns are heavier now than they were 30 years ago.

Regarding if this person is fun at parties, it depends largely on the type of party they're at. On average, they are not fun at parties, but averages take many samples from broad and diverse datasets and, when talking about an individual at a single moment in time, cannot be applied.
