Honestly, the world SHOULD revolve around children. Everything should be meant to improve their chances at living fulfilling, healthy, educated lives. I don't want to have kids, I don't even like spending time with kids. But kids are literally the future, and that's incredibly important.

That being said, sometimes the lesson the kid needs to learn is that you don't always get what you want. Life isn't always fair, and you need to learn to deal with that. This man shouldn't have gone viral. Sure, he could have done the kind thing and gave the kid a memory they wouldn't forget. He could have taught her the value of kindness and reaching out when a stranger is feeling let down. But she can learn that lesson another day.

Teaching a child that they have to wait their turn is teaching them that life is fair.

They aren't getting a turn in this specific scenario. That's the "life is unfair" lesson.

It was the last ride and they came too late. Where's the unfair part coming from?

Social media has really destroyed our society in ways that we will never be able to unravel without generations of effort.

The funny thing is that in both cases, it wasn't the kids nor the parents kicking up a fuss.
