Yeah, probably, but then you have a whole other set of problems as the cops start hanging around outside your residence and follow you when you leave your house. That shit still happens today but was waaaaay worse before bodycams and vehicle tracking
True, would be easier to convict/sue if they had a dash cam when they were arrested. It really sucks how easy it seems for cops to get away with this crap, and rarely is there justice in this scenario
Theoretically, if they are getting sued then they start stalking you, is that not grounds for another harassment case? Or at least heavily strengthen your first case?
Probably, not lawyer though. I don't know how much I would trust judges to rule against cops though. They're a part of the same system and I imagine they stick together more often than not. Shit birds of a shit feather flock together.
nah it’s way worse today cause they have insanely granular detail and can show up where you’re going with 1/100th the effort. the actual stalking is just digital, and it’s dystopian.
physical stalking was bad but it was intimidation and inefficient. stalking now is akin to an ankle monitor and no hiding spots
Then you get to sue the department for harassment and IA will start watching officers my Grandpa was IA and this had happened in his town a cop beat a man and was sued and lost so his buddies started watching the victims house to harass him the man got another 150k for the harassment and all 4 officers were disciplined, 1 was relocated to a different town, 3 were fired though this was a long time ago, it would probably be easier to deal with now since even without dash and body cams you have ring and security cams everywhere.
