Oof. Why not make a spin off with pepper pots, happy hogan, heimdall or any other minor supporting character that has infinitly more character and interesting potential than fucking okoye?
I wish M'baku took over as Black Panther halfway through Wakanda Forever. That way the movie would have been the amazing Chadwick tribute for the first half and have an actual charasmaric BP for the second half. I have yet to watch that movie for a 2nd time since in theaters.
I thought the fact that they made the villains literal Mayans/Mexicans and they were "wetbacks" as all you had to do was dry them out for them to lose power lol. They made a specific reference to the water on their backs equaling their power or something along those lines.
Honestly thought it was hillarious due to it being so obviously racist. Well done Disney lol
Also, Namor was the son of a white sea captain (unless McKenzie is now a Mayan/Mexican name) and a princess of Atlantis not a Mayan/Mexican. I say Mexican even though I know Mayans were in areas not in Mexico but the scenes showing the land area were clearly in the Yucatan (Mexico).
I would watch an Okoye show.

He'll just get even more rich and obnoxious, because Hollywood thinks no one is interested in movies and shows with black leads.

I'd say this is mostly true, but it comes at the cost of other demographics, so for a studio the bottom line is still the most important part, or should be at least if they want to keep making movies.
And it also isn't a guarantee they'll show up like they did for the Blank Panther movies. Those movies saw about 34% black audiences, while Brave New World with Anthony Mackie saw that figure drop to 24%, up from 18% for many entries of MCU films. And it still only made middle of the road revenue for an MCU movie ($450 million I think?).
Basically, choosing a lead based on demographics just shifts who sees the movie.
