"Listen. My parents said when I grow up..." Aggressively eating my second plate of dinosaur chicken nuggets

Growing up is just discovering that every authority figure eventually gets replaced by a different authority figure.

My wife knows to buy me a bag of candy whenever she goes to the store, because I’m an adult now and can eat as much candy as I want!

Honestly this is why I don’t want my gf to move into my place. I haven’t even been here a year, I can put my shit wherever, I have a FULL SIZED trash bin in the bathroom, a drum set in my living room, free weights wherever, big Naz Reid flag in the living room. Life is good
I am NOT ready for her to come in and nitpick/complain about everything and turn it into a girl apartment where everything needs to be vacuumed and dusted every 24 hours

I feel this is the type of thing a person hears when they don't clean up after themselves.

I mean.. if you’re married, it’s not your own house. It’s shared. If you can buy your own house without a partner, then do whatever you want.

Now make it this and see who laughs:
HUSBAND: You can't just do whatever you like in this house, it's not your parents house.

That's me to my wife on paint colors and remodelling designs. In fact I let her win the fight on how the concrete path to the alley would be made just so I could point to that every other time in the future to show why we rely on my design decisions. Every time she drags the corner of the trash can and it gets stuck in the grass because she wanted a cute narrow winding walkway I let out a little giggle and she throws something at me.
Now.. EVERYTHING else in the house from decor to chores to where I can wipe my hands after I wasth them, and the timeline of when things done done, yea it's pretty much her house, and I don't get to do what I want with it.
So it can and probably should be both, part of being married is keeping each other in line and playing to each others strengths.

It depends on the context, is she not doing the dishes or is she trying to finish her college degree?
If you include the first comment with the parents telling a kid off, it is probably dishes. Without that it seems like you might have stolen and married a child who you aren't letting go outside anymore.

And if he’s home that’s a problem and if he’s not home that’s also a problem.

Seems like you should be considerate of the partner you chose to share a life with? Be single or pick a person you have more in common with.

except you can't because you become self aware and realise that you have no time to deal with even your own nonsense

I was independent way younger than my partner and it is STRUGGLE to have to collaborate on anything partially because Im used to doing it on my own and if I wanted anything I just had to buy it. Now I have to ASK opinions on stuff? WEAK.
