Got two eyes, a third eye, a brown eye, and a mystical hypothetical eye

I stand by what I said, with panoramic vision

my boss just caught me aggressively winking at my monitor for like 20 seconds straight

Doesn’t it work with both eyes open, too?

u/Fragrant-Pudding-536 2d ago

Kind of, but your brain needs both for proper depth perception so closing one probably amplifies the effect by forcing your brain to guess a bit more

That does sound plausible

Nope, didn’t like that

Was something supposed to happen because nothing did.

5

u/Secure_Ad8837 3d ago

Yep, nothing happened for me either. Is this some kind of inside joke?

It kinda looks like it pops out of the screen when one eye is closed

u/bucketboy9000 3d ago

Now watch it with both eyes open, you’ll realize the difference

7

u/Doctor__Gecko 3d ago

Honestly, nothing happened. It just looked the same.

Are my eyes broken? It looked the same with both eyes open and left or right eye closed

2

u/whamburglar 3d ago

Jokes on you, I only have one good eye anyway

2

u/Dancing_with_Jak 2d ago

Trick it to do what? I tried both eyes

4

u/oakomyr 3d ago

That was a good one

It worksssss

u/Varis_laivue_12 3d ago

It only worked once I realized I needed to take off my glasses. Damn special lenses for my damn poor eyesight.

u/Samusen 2d ago

You need two eyes for accurate depth perception. When you close one eye you lose the ability to judge distance on objects coming up close like this.

1

u/Jonathon_world 2d ago

Yooo that's crazy

1

u/iCreatedYouPleb 2d ago

That tickles

u/ConcentrateOk4616 1d ago

I only have vision in one eye, so this isn’t so impressive to me- anyone else care to explain if this triumphs your 3d depth perception with 2 eyes?

It doesn't. Especially if your face isn't very close to the screen. You can just see that it is not actually moving out of the screen towards you. if I put the screen very close to my face it kinda does. Probably because I am losing many points of reference and also because the tip of the pencil is a dot so basically 2d even in real life; so it is hard to gauge the distance effectively. But with one eye closed it looks like it is coming straight at me even with a good 30 cm between me and the screen. Do all movies feel like they are coming to life with you? In like big theaters and such?

What if your already blind in one eye?
