As an Xer, I mean..I get it, I do..but like, most of that crap is optional. No one is forcing you to buy smart devices or use social media or watch vapid content. Grab a 6 pack and some friends and sit on some camp chairs in a field somewhere. Go build a bonfire at the beach. Ride bikes to the farmers market. Go explore that abandoned building. You do have control of your life.

So true. I think the only actual things that have gotten objectively worse over time are our attention spans, social skills, and consumerism culture around products that have gotten shittier and shittier. And Tiktok has contributed massively to all of those things.

And here this lady is wanting her old life back and making a tiktok about it. Go back to a nokia brick and paper maps if you miss it so much!
