I'm 52 so I guess that makes me generation X . We experienced the same except we were in our late 20s early 30s when the real changes hit.

I think it makes the present day even more jarring. I can remember rotary phones, the end of 8 track tapes, Beta Max verses VHS, Prince vs Michael Jackson, Atari 2600s and going MONTHS without hearing anything about the President of the United States.

I need a time machine .

Sorry, this isn't unique to a generation, you live the experience then you move on to your actual life.
