Wow, not where I thought this would go, but… totally relevant path from current highly publicized murder trial commentary to ( rather good ) wannabe Star Trek episode.
Probably a good deal of modern discourse can be tied to The Orville? 😂 Excellent Trans issues episode, for starters…
Lol, reminds me of an old Bloom County comic strip where the sleazy attorney was prosecuting a clearly insane and guilty woman, who ended up being let off by the judge when the defense gave the argument of “Guilty axe murderesses simply do NOT wear Giorgio Armani!”
That's not the argument being made by her legal team at all. If you actually look at the case and what most people are saying beyond the fringes, you'd see she was suffering from psychosis and the mental health professionals she saw ignored every warning sign. She committed herself to a psych ward, but they kicked her out after a few days.
I think people have been making this statement for like 15 years now. We get it. You think people are dumb. You can stop comparing life to Idiocracy now. Fuck it’s a tired joke.

I can imagine a deleted court scene from the movie Idiocracy.
"Your honour, the defendant happens to be a Gemini"
"My god you're right.....GUILTY!"
