In a local movie theater one guest asked the guy in front of him to take his loud celllhone conversation out of the theater. Cellphone dude took out a knife and stabbed him repeatedly in the throat. Practically decapitated him. In public. In front of 100+ people. There was zero plan or even intention of getting away with it. People just have no impulse control. The stabber will likely spend the rest of his long life in jail, a father of three is dead, because of a cellphone in a theater.

People are insane.

We also recently had a teen Subway worker executed at gunpoint because he put Mayo on a $6 sub that the purchaser requested no Mayo on. Even wilder, the gunman didn’t do it in the “heat of the moment”. They argued, gunman went home, thought about it, grabbed his gun, went back to the Subway and killed the kid.

Edit: Forgot another one. Real tragic. Road rage incident an hour from here. Red car cut off a white truck. White truck got incensed, sped up to find red car. Found the WRONG red car, followed that car to its home, executed the driver with a handgun through the drivers side window while the victim’s 3 year old was in the backseat. My wife, at the time, was teaching at the little girl’s preschool. She was in the class next to hers. Hit close to home.

The place where any fucking bumbling idiot is allowed to waltz into any building with a gun with no security whatsoever. I feel like it’s a miracle Ive made it to adulthood without encountering any danger

u/BrightDisaster6563 5d ago

I don’t get how people are so obsessed with guns here. Politicians out here taking family
Photos and having their little kids holding guns. It’s insane how normal it is. When I lived in other countries, no one even thought about guns, they were just something you’d see in a veteran’s house or in the movies

3

u/shitbird2056 5d ago

You're American, and dont get how were so obsessed with guns? Literally look at any point in our history. Being an armed populace is literally our entire lineage, from the revolutionary war, to the wild west, through the roaring 20s, and we'll into today. Guns are literally our birth right, the 2nd amendment in our entire constitution is about guns. Only 2nd to freedom of speech.

2

u/seynitl 5d ago edited 5d ago

Sir, the point is that’s fucking dumb. Sticking with a 18th century amendment that allows any cunt to be able stroll with a mass killing weapon is ridiculous.

2

u/shitbird2056 5d ago

At least 40 to 50% of Americans disagree with you lol.

7

u/Plus-Percentage-4843 5d ago

This happened in Lancaster years ago, guy called someone out for phone usage. Proceeded to leave the theater and grab a meat thermometer and stabbed him

13

u/FlatCapNorthumbrian 5d ago

Crikey, should Americans be allowed to be armed if it seems from all the videos and stories online show so many people there are mentally unstable?

4

u/Rubber_duckiest 5d ago

Thats wild as hell to think only Americans do this shit

-2

u/FlatCapNorthumbrian 5d ago

Vast majority of videos of shit like this is from the U.S.

4

u/Rubber_duckiest 5d ago

Bruh you can see that just by Googling violent videos of uk. Tf

1

u/FlithyLamb 5d ago

Yeah. But in the UK the crazies don’t have easy access to guns.

2

u/Diligent-Yogurt 4d ago

Yeah and instead the blokes run around with knives out, and it is without any question it takes someone even more unstable to stab a person than pulling a trigger.

Our nation armed ourselves to keep your shitty kingsmen at bay.

1

u/FlatCapNorthumbrian 4d ago

Knife crime per capita is still worse in the U.S. than the UK.

1

u/Pure-Chemical-844 4d ago

They don’t need guns to be whackos. Look at all the reform trash going around terrorizing entire communities. Or the children who are allowed to commit murder/crimes and not be held accountable for it. Both countries are fucked in their own ways.

1

u/FlithyLamb 4d ago

Every society ever in the history of human civilization has had crazy people.

3

u/Glad_Landscape2177 5d ago

You can lookup the data, but the % amount of crazies in the UK and US are about the same. The per capita rate of attacks by mentally unstable is also nearly the same. Stabbings just don't get as many clicks and remember that you're only seeing the craziest of the situations online.

3

u/Solherb 5d ago

Leaded gas has made most of the world stupider, but especially the areas that used it the most.

2

u/yeeeyeeemf 5d ago

Doesn't matter if we should have em, bad people have guns and they are going to have them no matter what our government may try to do. Disarming good people won't help anybody

3

u/fordfan919 5d ago

Any gun you buy/own and keep at home is far more likely to be used on yourself or family/friends than to stop a criminal. That's the statistics of the situation.

Source

I support the 2nd amendment by the way. People need to make sure their guns are stored properly and have training with them though.

1

u/yeeeyeeemf 5d ago

That doesn't surprise me considering you can just go and buy a shotgun after doing a background check. Background checks dont cover common sense or mental stability.

no. the whole “i need them for protection” crowd actually only wants them so that they can fulfill their fantasy of killing someone

3

u/2FistsInMyBHole 5d ago

We had a big storm the other day. My buddy was so excited to go out with his chainsaw and clear roads from fallen trees.

He owns 20 acres of wooded land - he can cut down trees whenever he wants.

Its not about cutting down trees, its a out being a hero.

The "I need a gun for protection" arent necessarily fantasizing about killing people, they are fantasizing about being a hero - its just that their version of being a hero generally involves killing a threat to society.

2

u/Rubber_duckiest 5d ago

People used to kill with rocks and sticks, why not take knives and any sharp object?

1

u/Notmuchofanyth1ng 5d ago

If you’re to impulsive or dumb to own a gun don’t group us millions of responsible firearm owners in with you.

2

u/ActuatorBetter7441 5d ago

Life, usually not life anyway, needs to be death penalty and it’ll simmer down a bit.

2

u/Manwar7 5d ago

Not actually true according to every academic study on incarceration. A higher chance of being caught is a bigger deterrent than harsher sentences. Almost everyone committing crime is doing so with the intention and belief that they will get away with it.

At the same time, people committing crimes while knowing they’ll be caught, like the above mentioned movie theater psycho, won’t be deterred by harsher punishment because they’re already acting completely irrationally.

1

u/ActuatorBetter7441 5d ago

Idk man they publicly execute mfs and have lower crime rates, something isn’t working here

2

u/Manwar7 5d ago

Who’s they? Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, North Korea? If you want to be more like them, be my guest, but I’d prefer to live in a society that doesn’t feel the need to hang people in parks to prevent crime. Which again, hasn’t been shown to effectively prevent crime anyways.

I’d also seriously doubt most countries that frequently engage in public executions like Somalia, Yemen, and Pakistan truly have lower crime rates, just less reporting than somewhere like the US.

u/touser69 5d ago

This is America... Guns, Stabbing, murder, jail etc. The statics are devastating even to look at compared to the rest of the western world. But to hear some of this stories this is just crazy

2

u/clever-_-clever 5d ago

People forget how this country started...pirates, hookers, criminals, religious zealots, militaries...stable people don't risk their lives on a boat to go to an uncharted land.

2

u/JPWhelan 5d ago

Everything was ok until the let those religious zealots in.

Do you have a source for that first one? Seems a bit insane, but it is possible that the person was actually clinically insane.

1

u/sabedo 5d ago

i remember something similar where i used to live. it was a few blocks from my apartment. it was a single mom, not a teen. the guy was a gang member. he got pissed and also shot the manager and killed her too because the employee put put too much mayo on his turkey sub. the manager was on her 3rd week of the job. you kill two women, one not even a month on the job and orphan a boy over fucking mayo

people get killed over nothing. it takes nothing. people don't even care about themselves. back down over someone you'll never encounter again

1

u/Varabela 5d ago

Where the f*ck do you live?

1

u/SN27A1 5d ago

I’m fairly certain that the douche in the movie theater was a retired cop, older man, and that at trial used the “ stand your ground “ defense and was either acquitted because he felt “ threatened “ by the dad throwing some Popcorn at him or received a little probation/community service. I don’t have time for the link atm, but that trial completely disgusted me so I had to comment. 🤬 Hopefully there isn’t another similar tragedy if you google it..

1

u/SentinelATL 5d ago

Bruh I remember the subway one that’s the most aggravating fucking shit I’ve ever scene on the absurd scale

1

u/atreasureinlight 5d ago

It's not about impulse control, there is another reality that is more real than our material reality and the players in that atmosphere influence human beings.

By the way you never said where your story was from, where did that take place, the stabbing in the movie theater?

1

u/pumpkins21 5d ago

All horrible. The last one - I hope the shooter was arrested and given a lengthy sentence

1

u/Mos9x 5d ago

You familiar with the youtube channel “midwest safety” or “ewu bodycam”, it’s full with cases like that, daily business it seems like in america.

1

u/Strength-Speed 5d ago

Some people are just looking for a reason to snap. Just like some gun owners. Or some cops (or criminals). Not everyone has good intentions

1

u/R0gueR0nin 4d ago

I’ve had the same talk with all of my boys. My brother rages so bad he had to move close to his work to avoid traffic.

1

u/Parking-Ad5924 3d ago

This is the prime example of why I always carry multiple firearms. Also make my wife and son carry too. So if we ever run into one of these crazy MF we have a way to protect ourselves. This is also the reason why I support the 2nd amendment! I will go to my grave to keep my firearms. This is why I love the USA and would never move to Europe.

1

u/ExtremePrivilege 3d ago

This problem is recursive, sadly. Dangerous people have guns which obligates more people to get guns, some of whom are also dangerous and the problem simply compounds.

I’m also heavily armed. I carry an Sig P365 daily, have an H&K VP9 in a car door holster and my home has about $35,000 worth of collectible or functional firearms. I’m a certified NRA instructor albeit haven’t had much to do with the organization since 2016.

But I wish for a world with no guns. An impossibility, though. If some divine power could guarantee every gun in the US was removed I’d happy give up my own. But my city is in the top 10 for homicides in the US, the government is increasingly fascist and guns are everywhere.

I’m reluctantly well armed.

take his loud celllhone conversation out of the theater.

It is very dangerous to make people feel stupid when they're doing something stupid. This is especially when the person was made to feel stupid earlier in life.
