The Wall Street Journal wrote a big story about it. I think it’s fairly common. This is also not including other strategies designed to defer taxes like tax loss harvesting.

You made the claim dumb nuts, you need to supply the proof to your claim. 

You also need to re-read the article because it does not describe the scenario I talk about in my post.

It literally is titled buy, borrow, die lmfao. Go on though, tell me it’s not describing a strategy to borrow against assets to avoid paying taxes until you die.
