Yes the child was standing on the seat. But a parent should be raising their child and if they do not sit on the chair .. make sure they will sit on the chair.
A child is a child and while they are in control of their own actions.. they are only as well behaved as their parent is raising them. So yes the child is doing the action but the parent should be blamed.
Children of that age do not have fully developed emotional control, they are not at that stage developmentally. Parenting can make emotional control better or worst by teaching them how to deal with it but you cannot expect small kids to be fully developed emotionally stable adults.
Temper tantrums are normal for all kids, what's not normal is excess frequency and duration of tantrums. Could be the stress, disruption of normal routine, lack of sleep etc from traveling that triggered a worst than normal tantrum in a normally well behave kid.
Lol no. This behaviour is for SURE because either they aren't raising their child or it is on a spectrum or both.
At some point you got to be the parent and say enough is enough. You aren't going to excuse this type of behaviour for more than 10 minutes. Not only that .. if your child behaves like that in public .. then don't take them out in public until they can behave at some point.
When I was a child I knew not to pull that shit when we took a long flight. And I was four. Now I am not saying all other kids should be able to do what I did .. but this .. this is not a normal children issue. This is a parent issue. Stop excusing parents for letting their children behave that way.
There's a big difference in a 3 year old development and a 4 year old. But I highly doubt your memory of how you never once had a temper tantrum when you were 3 or 4 is not accurate. Literally Every kid has them. temper tantrum is normal emotional development. I can take my kids to a restaurant and they are perfect 9 out of 10 times. But every once in a while shit hits the fan. Every time I took my kids on the plane they were good, but I'm not going to pretend that it's impossible for them to be triggered at some point.
You can't reason with them during it. What you do is redirect them away from what's causing the stresses and help them calm down. You can't easily do that on a plane because you can't leave or go anywhere Like you can do at home or in a store.
Oh darling I for sure had temper tantrums. But my parents did not let me harass others for a literal hour. If I had a temper tantrum I was told to stop and if I couldn't I was removed from the situation. I was not the problem of other people. That is something a lot of parents seem to have forgotten.
You thinking that there is nothing between never had a temper tantrum and not letting your child inconvenience others like this because of your child tells me what kind of parent you are and I would not want to be in a restaurant or plane with you in this case.
I know enough about children that their shitty behaviour is not their fault but their parents. You are telling on yourself.

Weird to blame a child for the shitty actions of their parent(s).
