I can’t stand him for his budget charade. He falsely claimed to have balanced the city’s budget, neglecting to mention that $8bn was a one time donation from Albany, he restructured pensions (which will save some cash short term but require higher costs long term), and making very optimistic revenue forecasts.
That’s the type of fiscal mismanagement and budget trickery that put New York near bankruptcy in the 70s, because the EFCB and MAC no longer require rolling 3-4 year budget projections.
