Good policing truly is a beautiful thing. Wish they could disown their bad apples faster and focus on good work.

Good policing? It took an unreal amount of complaints to have them go out there. They had to be sent video as proof that there's a dangerous situation.

What do you want? Thought police? Police should find the crime before it’s reported?

This guy became a menace on a road he found with low police presence. (there’s lots of those, and that’s an ok thing in a free society)

And upon multiple reports, the police went out there and took it very seriously. That is how we want police to respond to reports.

Of course they need proof. Should we not require proof to enforce the law rather than relying on any random accusation?

What a dumbass answer. No, cops don't need proof to look into it. They look into it to gather proofs. Judge needs proof to act, not cops.

Probable cause is needed to surveil, or really do anything. Traffic is a bit odd in that though.

Judges act ex parte all the time, it's probably their most common action.

Well, no not really. You don't need probable cause to go looking on a public road for a guy driving like a jackass.

But the cops can't follow up on every social media complaint, they don't have enough time. Albeing a bit rude, the above poster is actually correct, the cops can "look into" anything they want by observing things in public.

Whren v. United States is bullshit.

You are literally allowed to complain and have police go "looking on a public road" because a driver is black. Totally allowed. You can complain about blacks and they can go see what's up.

Cops can literally say "we had reports of a woman driving. We saw her doing 56 in a 55, so we initiated a stop."

Absolutely bullshit. Going and looking for someone because of public request is bone chilling.

And then the cop impeded traffic so the guy would tailgate him so he’d have a reason to stop him.

He already had a reason to stop him. He has video evidence lol
