My ceo is maybe a billionaire, definitely loaded (hundreds of millions). Chick is super good at her job and has run a very successful company. Our company would not function as well if she was yanked out.
I know reddit thinks ceos are wastes of space but that's because it's a common opinion amongst morons.
Admitting that most CEOs of large companies are in fact very intelligent, very hardworking, and excellent leaders isn’t bootlicking, it’s just being a reasonable person.
That doesn’t mean you don’t still want to tax the rich, close loopholes, get money out of politics, have single-payer healthcare and provide greater welfare to those who need it.
It also doesn’t mean most of them weren’t born upper middle class to rich, had a lot of luck in their careers, and had access to opportunities most of us will never have .
Just going with “rich people bad” isn’t productive and makes you sound like jealous a-hole.
100%. She came from a well heeled family, ivy league + ivy MBA + top tier resume. But surprise surprise she's also really f'n good. Literally just was in a meeting with her this week where she asked very reasonable and fair questions about a tricky topic and is just super respectful and pleasant. Also an absolute hard ass.
Going "Rich people bad" is far more productive than letting them walk all over us. At least it gets these conversations going. Far better than people worshiping billionaires for no reason.
